The Harlowton Public Library Board of Trustees is seeking candidates to fill a vacancy on its five-member board, which oversees library budget and policies. If chosen, the term would start immediately.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Attend board meetings (third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m.)
    • occassionally a special meeting outside of monthly board meetings
  • Preview the agenda, minutes, and documents before each meeting
  • Participate in discussion and decision-making at each meeting
  • Commit time outside of meeting for the work of the Board
    • e.g. certification hours, fundraising events, training.
  • Attend trustees training; be knowledgeable about the goals, plans, history, and future of the library
  • Be informed about library issues through state and national library organizations
  • Be an advocate for the library community
